A record in his service file has him leaving on board the “Suevic” on 8th October 1915, but also states the word “Suez”. This caused much confusion as it was initially thought he embark for Australia from “Suez”. However, the “Suevic” left from Plymouth, 103 miles east of Weymouth, on 8th October 1915.

The “Suevic” arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia on 19th November 1915 and after a stopover in Melbourne continued on to Sydney and berthed there on 29th November 1915.

A Sydney newspaper listed the names of the men on board the “Suevic” but did not mention the ship by name. A condensed version of the article mentions J. C. Dymock of Divisional Ammun.
